The M-type The Classic shape of the M-type handlebar has been used on the Brompton since the outset. It gives a fairly upright ride with excellent control. Grip height is around 1015mm from the road and there is scope for a little fore/aft adjustment. |
The S-type The S-type, for many, is the prettiest Brompton handlebar option. At around 935mm from the ground the bars are appreciably lower than on an M-type and 50mm further forward. This position enables you to get down out of the wind and enjoy the lively and positive feel of a Brompton. The stiffness of the S-types make then great for hill climbing. The S-type is a great alternative for smaller riders seeking lower bars. The standard S-type bikes incorporate the lighter parts options. |

The P-type The lower grips are well forward and about 880mm from the road. They are angled for comfort on longer stretches of road and the stiffest section for out of the saddle climbing. Just remember you have no brakes in this position, so keep this position for the open road. |
